This is why I need to be in grad school...

WANT. Want every last book in this series.

One of the reasons I've always wanted to be a college professor is so that I can design entire courses around topics like these. Pop culture + philosophy + social science + history + film/literature/media = happy Natty.

In fact, I am regularly developing lectures in my head for my The Dystopic Future in Film and Literature class. (DON'T steal my idea, you bastards. I'll smack you upside the head with my PhD. When I get it.)

Speaking of which, I need money. Consider it an investment in the brilliant minds of..oh hell, who am I kidding? People are stupid. Academia is dying and it makes me want to cry. Or cuddle up in my Snuggie with Brave New World and suck my thumb.

Typical Friday nite, really.

  1. Sounds exactly like my Friday night with a different movie choice. I can't wait.

Also, I'd TOTALLY sign up for a class in which you were the professor. I don't know what I'd learn, but you sharing wisdom is something I'm ALWAYS game for doing.

  2. I feel ya. I'm starting to prepare my grad school applications for English doctoral programs, in the face of everyone and their mom telling me that out of all the careers fields, humanities professors pretty much have it the WORST right now.

    Oops.
