As a child, we often visited the donut shop on weekends, then set out to run errands around town. Sometimes my dad would grab us some pastries from the local Danish bakery and we'd go sit or drive by the harbor, listening to pelicans call and hearing the waves crash against the docks. Those moments feel as alive to me as they did decades ago, and it's a blessing to know that quiet times are still precious, regardless of your current locale or which donut shop you visit. After all these years, a chocolate twist still warms my heart, especially when shared with another.
This is such an amazing and thoughtful post! When life gets really busy, I always like to remember little things like this that make me happy. Your story is so beautiful :)
